The web industry allows professionals within it to get things done faster and see results quicker than any other industry. Of course professionals need the right skill sets OR ACCESS to those skill sets in order to make things happen. If you’re a large company many times you can simply turn to your employees and get to work. What happens if your key employees workloads are already full of time sensitive projects that can not be pushed to the side to make way for your great big idea/new client project? Outsource!
If you’re a small company outsourcing can be essential if you’re trying to establish a second source of income–first source being client projects. If you’ve been working on a project and you’ve hit a technical road block that you are wasting hours upon hours on and still can’t seem to figure out how to do it then outsource it! If your clients are demanding too much of your time or you work a full-time/part-time job to provide some sort of financial security as a freelancer/small business then outsourcing should be seriously considered as a way to use other people’s time to create projects apart from your clients and directed toward specific niche markets that you can establish streams of income by providing a web app, product or service.
Outsourcing provides the access to the right skill sets needed for your projects. It’s like sitting in the director’s chair, calling all the shots and getting all the credit for the finished product. It’s a natural progression for any smart and talented actor to eventually find their way to the director’s chair. It’s their vision as a director and others are helping take the director’s vision and put it into reality — a lot like outsourcing. Of course, just because you’re in the director’s chair doesn’t mean you can’t still be one of the star actor’s in the ’show’.
